Burn, born unfolds in a butterfly-like composition, symbolizing the cycle of destruction and rebirth. Two mirrored panels act as opposing fields of energy—magnetic, resistant, and interdependent. The contrast of red and black echoes the Five Elements’ notion that fire “gives birth to earth,” embodying dissolution and creation simultaneously. The artist approaches fire as an alchemical force, reconstructing form through intensity. Within the textile’s heat lies a subtle equilibrium, reflecting purification and renewal. As Bachelard observed, fire is both the emblem of desire and the metaphor of creation. Burn, born renders their coexistence: the extinction of flame as the genesis of form.
