Throb(2026)
W100 x H200cm x 2
Nylon mesh, synthetic fiber
Jacquard woven
The work translates photographic imagery into tactile woven matter, allowing the image to become unstable, physical, and spatial. The cascading threads connect ceiling, textile body, and ground, evoking heat, blood, smoke, and vibration. Throb holds fire between destruction and renewal: a burn that continues to beat.
Throb is a suspended Jacquard textile work from the Fire Elements series, exploring fire as a bodily pulse rather than a fixed image. Two curved woven panels surround a vertical fall of red threads, forming a structure that suggests flame, skin, wing, wound, and exposed inner current.
